Overview The forum on the subject of ‘Current issues and a scheme of developing the direct selling industry' was held to have an opportunity to examine the current position of the direct selling industry which rapidly evolves in a diversified way, and to make a survey of the future thereof.
This forum on subject of ‘Current issues and a scheme for developing the direct selling industry' had presentations about ’Government policy for the direct selling industry’, ‘Scheme of improving legislative regulation on the direct selling industry’, and ‘Consumer’s awareness and necessity of amendment of terms for the multi-level marketing’. A special session was held to have a discussion on various opinions from the policy authority, the industry, consumer groups, universities, the legal circles, and the media, with professor Oh-Seung Gwon as a chair person, who was a former chairperson of the Fair Trade Commission and is currently a professor in the Graduate School of Law, Seoul National University.

Public hearing on re-definition of multi-level marketing and final consumer

Overview 최근 There is an issue of re-defining the terms multi-level marketing and final consumer in conformity with the amended Door-to-Door Sales Act. The MACDS thus organized a public hearing to collect other opinions reflecting the reality with the strong intention of the industry for re-defining terms.
In this Public Hearing, panels were professor Sook-Hee Choi, Hanyang Cyber University, lawyer Ik-Soo Jeon, Law Firm Seojeong, chairman Jong-Won Shin, Seoul YMCA Citizens Mediation Center, and editor Sang-Cheol KIm, MBC. The keynote presenter was professor Young-Gyun Yim, Gwangwoon University.
